BATON ROUGE - A Super Bowl Saint was arrested in Baton Rouge on drug and battery charges.
According
to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, officers arrested
Tracy Porter on Oct. 10 after a woman claimed he attacked her five days
earlier.
According to the affidavit, the
unidentified victim came to police on Oct. 5 and told them she was in an
argument with Porter that turned physical. The victim stated that she
met with Porter to get the keys to her home back, but he was upset and
pushed her up against his car.

The
victim told police that Porter then grabbed her around the face and
neck. The police officer taking the report noted that the woman had
fresh bruises consistent with her story.
Police
arrested Porter five days later and questioned him about the incident.
According to the affidavit, Porter told them that he grabbed the alleged
victim, but only to protect himself.
Police found a
prescription painkiller on Porter, but he did not have a prescription
for it. According to the affidavit, officers found 46 more pills in his
car along with one ounce of marijuana, a grinder and a 9mm firearm.
Police say Porter admitted that all those items belonged to him.
Porter
was then booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for possession
with intent to distribute Acetaminophen, possession of a fire arm with a
controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of
marijuana and battery of a dating partner.
Porter
is famous in Saints' lore for his game-clinching interception and return
for touchdown against the Colts in the Super Bowl in 2010.
